What does it mean when a service says “starting price”?

All services are customized to meet individual needs for optimal results. Depending on your hair type and desired outcome, this may require additional product and/or time. For example, curly haircuts on very long or thick hair may use twice as much product, while some color services that are more dramatic might necessitate an additional four bowls of color. Any extra charges will help cover the cost of this additional product and time.

What method of curly hair cutting do you use?

It varies for each individual. Every curly haircut is entirely tailored to your specific needs, and the needs of your curl style. Additionally, I will never impose a cutting technique that makes someone uncomfortable. Please feel free to share any requests or concerns before or during your appointment!

What does “lived-in color” mean?

Lived-in color refers to the desired outcome of the coloring service I provide. The techniques I use to achieve this effect can vary. The primary goal is for you to love your color and for the results to reflect a more natural "lived-in" look. For instance, if you desire highlights but prefer not to maintain them frequently, I will apply a technique that creates a softer, more diffused distribution of the highlights. This way, as your hair grows between appointments, there won't be any harsh lines from regrowth, and your color will continue to look fantastic for six months or longer.

Do you do “balayage”?

Absolutely! I have extensive training in balayage, foiliage, traditional highlights, color corrections, and a variety of other techniques.

Balayage refers to a technique of hand-painted highlights, distinguishing it from foiled highlights. This method delivers the most subtle, sun-kissed results, making it ideal for those who prefer a slight contrast in their hair color. Balayage appointments are perfect for low-maintenance color; most of my balayage clients wait 4-8 months between appointments due to the subtle nature of the effect and the ease of grow-out.

On the other hand, highlights and foiliage involve the use of foils, which can create a more dramatic impact on the hair. With foiliage, highlights can be highly customized. Foiling work is meticulous and can also achieve blonder highlights when desired.
